How to buy and sell SOL with USDT on OTCN
Easy trade converts one asset into another at the rate shown in the trade card above. To buy Solana, select Buy, enter the amount of USDT you want to spend and check how much SOL you will receive. To sell, switch to Sell and enter the amount of SOL you want to convert back to USDT.

What is Solana (SOL)?
Solana is a layer-1 blockchain for decentralized applications, with SOL as its native token. The project aims to keep transactions quick and inexpensive. Its starting point was a November 2017 white paper in which Anatoly Yakovenko, formerly an engineer at Qualcomm, set out Proof of History, a method of putting transactions in order. Yakovenko then co-founded Solana Labs, and the network's Mainnet Beta launched in March 2020.
Security comes from proof of stake. Validators lock up SOL, along with tokens that other holders delegate to them, then vote on blocks and collect rewards for that work. Their stake also sets the weight of their votes on some proposed protocol changes. The same token covers transaction fees, and half of every base fee is burned. Total supply has no cap: staking rewards create new SOL under an inflation schedule that began at 8% a year and declines annually toward a long-term 1.5%. One SOL divides into a billion lamports, its smallest unit.
What is Tether (USDT)?
Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin designed to hold a value of 1 US dollar. It launched in 2014 and is issued on several blockchains, including Ethereum and Tron. Because its price is meant to stay close to 1 USD, traders use USDT to price other crypto assets and to keep a dollar-denominated balance without leaving the crypto market.
Why trade Solana against USDT?
Every fee on Solana is charged in SOL, and validators and their delegators stake it to protect the chain. Pairing it with USDT, a stablecoin that aims to track the US dollar, gives the network's token a dollar-linked price. One conversion can shift funds from SOL into USDT to scale back Solana exposure, or the other way to build it up, and USDT can serve as a holding balance between positions. Crypto markets have no closing hours and trade through nights, weekends and public holidays.
