How to buy and sell CAKE with USDT on OTCN
Easy trade converts one asset into another at the rate shown in the trade card above. To buy PancakeSwap, select Buy, enter the amount of USDT you want to spend and check how much CAKE you will receive. To sell, switch to Sell and enter the amount of CAKE you want to convert back to USDT.
The rate moves with the market, so always review the amount you will receive before you confirm. If you want to set your own price with limit orders, use the CAKE/USDT spot market instead. Fees for every product are listed on the Fees page.
What is PancakeSwap (CAKE)?
PancakeSwap is a decentralized exchange, and CAKE is its native token. Users swap tokens on it straight from wallets they control. The exchange went live in September 2020 on Binance Smart Chain, the network since renamed BNB Smart Chain, and CAKE was issued there under the BEP-20 standard. Its developers have not made their identities public. Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Solana and several other networks were added later.
Trading on PancakeSwap runs on automated market makers. Liquidity providers supply pairs of tokens to pools and receive part of the fees that traders pay. Yield farms and other PancakeSwap products pay out newly minted CAKE as rewards, and Syrup Pools let holders stake their tokens. On governance proposals, every CAKE carries one vote. Some trading fee revenue is spent buying CAKE on the open market, and those tokens are then burned. Supply is limited to 400 million CAKE. Holders set that ceiling in a January 2026 vote, reducing it from 450 million.
What is Tether (USDT)?
Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin designed to hold a value of 1 US dollar. It launched in 2014 and is issued on several blockchains, including Ethereum and Tron. Because its price is meant to stay close to 1 USD, traders use USDT to price other crypto assets and to keep a dollar-denominated balance without leaving the crypto market.
Why trade PancakeSwap against USDT?
CAKE holders vote on changes to how the token is minted and burned, and the January 2026 decision to lower the supply cap showed that these rules do change. Some traders follow proposals closely and use a USDT balance to raise or reduce their CAKE position as outcomes become known. Quoting CAKE against a dollar stablecoin gives it a dollar reference price. People who want CAKE only for voting or for PancakeSwap products can acquire just the amount they need and keep the remainder in USDT.
